Q&A
When are practices held, and how often?
Practices are held on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings from 6:00–8:00 PM. Practice locations, along with uniform details and updates, will be posted regularly in GameChanger.
Where are practices and games typically located?
Field allocations have not been announced yet. Last season, Tuesday and Thursday practices were held at Cave Creek Cholla Park, while Wednesday practices took place at DBats in Peoria. Most tournaments are held locally throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area.
What leagues and tournaments will the team participate in?
League play will take place at Victory Lanes. We will compete in USSSA, NCS, and PG (Perfect Game) tournaments. We’re also exploring two travel tournament opportunities—one in Lake Havasu and another in Flagstaff.
Are there any additional costs beyond the commitment fee?
There should be little to no out-of-pocket expenses beyond the commitment fee and monthly dues. Fields, lights, umpires, league fees, and tournament costs are all included in the monthly dues. The only exception is food and lodging for travel tournaments, which are not covered in our standard fees.
When does the season officially start and end?
The league season officially begins in August and runs through May of the following year. We typically take time off around Christmas and New Year to allow families to travel and enjoy time with loved ones.
Who do I contact if my player will miss a practice or game?
Please be sure to update your attendance in GameChanger so coaches can properly plan for practices and games. If your absence is last-minute, we understand that life happens—just call or text your team manager as a courtesy.
What is the expected level of commitment from families and players?
Players are expected to attend as many practices, games, tournaments, and team functions as possible to ensure growth, development, and team cohesion.
Are there volunteer or fundraising expectations?
Yes. There are certain expectations around volunteering and fundraising throughout the season. If a family chooses not to participate in fundraising efforts, we ask that they make a matching donation equal to the average amount raised per player.
What equipment does my player need to provide?
Players are expected to arrive in the proper uniform, and bring a batting helmet, bat, glove, cleats, and plenty of water to stay hydrated.
What happens if my player is injured or needs to miss part of the season?
In the event of an injury, we ask that you follow your medical professional’s advice and keep bAZerker coaches informed of the injury, any restrictions, and the expected recovery timeline.
